Location:

The Tamar Valley is orientated around the majestic Tamar River which meanders for 58kms, through the heart of the high-yielding vineyard country, orchards, scenic pastures and forests from Launceston to the Sea. The Valley features a number of quaint, riverside villages offering a selection of local arts and crafts. At last count there were over 20 vineyards scattered throughout the valley.

Climate:
Kateland’s proximity to the ocean means that it enjoys a milder climate than that of Launceston. The warmth of summer is often complimented with gentle ocean breezes, whilst the chill of winter is mitigated by slightly milder conditions and Kateland's wood fires.

Travel Details:
Flights to Tasmania
Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar all have direct flights to Launceston from both Sydney and Melbourne.

Driving Instructions
Kateland is a 40 minute drive from Launceston, 55 minutes from Launceston Airport, 90 minutes from Devonport, and 160 minutes from Hobart.
The best route is to take the A7, West Tamar Highway, north from Launceston to Kateland – you will pass through Beaconsfield and Beauty Point. Kateland is 3.5km from the Beauty Point turn-off.
